Great topic! My critique group partners are definately my lantern wavers.
Love the idea about recording the first two chpts and listening while I walk. Currently, if a non-critique group reader gushes that they couldn't put it down, I'm realistic. I ask where they did finally put it down. That's the first place I tighten with tension.
